陈哲摄影集《Bees》开售 Bees by Zhe Chen released
今日立春，东风解冻。对于假杂志的老读者来说，我想，陈哲早已不是陌生的名字。从最早的《可承受的》到最新的《蜜蜂》，完全可以说是假杂志见证了她的成长。所以，这次她选择与假杂志社合作出版她的首本摄影集《蜜蜂》是顺理成章的事。这本画册的出版，从去年初夏我们俩坐在钱粮胡同一家咖啡馆的门槛上谈起，经历了她去南方，再然后她去了美国，一本去年9月便以面世的书，直到今天才正式出版发行。各种原委就此略去。我只是想以这些年做这个“假杂志”的态度向大家保证，这本书绝对值280块钱，绝对值得大家珍藏。
Today is the Beginning of Spring in Chinese calendar. On this very special day, we’re honored to announce the release of photographer Zhe Chen‘s first monograph Bees, published in cooperation with Jia Zazhi. As an old friend of Jia Zazhi, you must have been quite familiar with Zhe Chen and her original photographic works, as we have introduced her series The Unbearable and Bees series earlier on our blogzine.
The special photo book we’re now releasing, titled Bees, features Chen’s 2011 Inge Morath award-winning project, “a document of self-mortification among a community of disaffected Chinese. The difficult nature of her subject is made more complex by Chen’s lyrical approach, identifying the physical self-destruction of her subjects as an act of spiritual cleansing.” You wouldn’t want to miss this well-designed and printed photo book.
