《寂静的纬度》（文/游莉；翻译/阿慢）

我时常想要确认，究竟是哪些生命的结点，让我之所以成为我。如此一来，质疑自我存在的情结就在日常的虚无中不断地若隐若现，渐渐成为我的焦虑和困扰。终于使我确信，必须把这种疑问凝结成确凿的影像，以现实感去超越其中的消极。

由2007年至今的北方国境之旅，是我在离开故乡6年之后重返故地，对它和我自身的重新审视。这个关于我从哪里来的漫长旅程，贯穿了北方国境线上由东至西数十个平凡的城镇村落。

我并非要讲一个旅行故事，相反的，随着时间的推移，标注着所及之处的红点，在地图上连成恍惚的一片，像记忆中人群的低语一样，面目模糊。而每张照片中的人物和风景，却毫不含糊地独立出来。它们早晚要摆脱所有的故事，让注解和文字都成为不得已而为之，使视觉传达从眼见的画面回归到内心的交流，而不再需要用一种语言去诠释另一种语言。

Silent Latitude (written by You Li, translated by Lilith)

I always wanted to know which nodes in life made me be myself. The queries about the existence of the self arose in daily void from time to time, and gradually started to disturb and trouble me. At last I believed that, I had to congeal these queries into concrete images to transcend the negativity with real presences.

The travel around the northern frontier from 2007 was a review about myself and my hometown, where I left for 6 years. The journey about where I came from ran through dozens of common towns and villages on the northern frontier from east to west.

I was not trying to tell a travel story, but to the contrary, as time flied, the red dots marking where I arrived in the map were joined in a trance, like the whispering crowd in my memory, looking fuzzy. However, the persons and scenes in each photos stood alone unequivocally. They would get rid of all stories sooner and later, making the notes and words their slaves, and the visual communication would return to the inner world instead of the surface pictures. The one language would never be interpreted by another language.
