故事（七）：陈哲 STORY 07 by Zhe Chen

很荣幸，刚刚出炉的第3届三影堂摄影奖大奖得主 陈哲 便是今天为我们讲第七个故事的摄影师。假杂志曾经介绍过她的“可承受的”系列。而这次正值她的新系列“蜜蜂”上线，于是我就邀请她讲讲这个系列背后的故事。陈哲前些日子正好也从加利福尼亚帕萨德纳艺术中心设计学院毕业，在祝贺之余，也要祝愿，一个刚刚年过二十不久的摄影师的未来有着很多可能性。很多人看到她的“可承受的”系列作品之后难以理解或接受，但是当你真正了解了她创作的原点和背后的故事后，便会明白这些作品的意义和力量。至于这个新系列为什么叫“蜜蜂”？请慢慢看她的作品，作品之后是文字，看完之后也许你就明白。

We are lucky, Zhe Chen, the hottest winner of Three Shadow Centre photography grand prize 2011 will tell a story for us. Jia Za Zhi introduced her The Bearable series last year. And she just released her lastest series Bees, so I invited her to talk about the background story of this series. By the way, she just graduated from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA. 任曙林《八十年代中学生》摄影展 Ren Shulin’s Solo Exhibition

Chinese Photographer Ren Shulin’s Middle School Student in 1980s Exhibition will open on Apr. 30th at Beijing Inter Gallery. The exhibition will last to Jun. 1st 2011. The opening party is at 3 p.m. on Apr.30th (SAT). Jia Za Zhi exposed some of the works in the exhibition. I will be there that day, and hope to see you then if you are in Beijing.

『故事』第六集：沈怡 STORY 6: Shen Yi

 

上周六与摄影师沈怡约在798的东八时区书店见面。在美国学习多年，而后又旅居法国多年的她谈到摄影和新媒体时，其观念与我这些年来的摄影审美颇为不同，但却让我深受启发。摄影发展到现在，除了记录之外，真的有着无限的可能性。与文字带给人相对笃定的信息相比，摄影有其不确定性，她另外谈到“过期的风景”系列中一张有着铁丝网的作品（上图）说，欧洲人马上想起了奥斯威辛集中营，而中国人却想到了恬淡的乡村生活。这种因不同文化背景、不同生活经验造成的阅读歧义让她十分迷恋。再拿她的“蜜月旅行”系列来说，乍看以为是她记录自己的一段美好时光，但听她一说，原来这是一个类似于“梦境”的虚构故事，所有的良辰美景都来自于她的猜测或想象，是她将多年的照片像电影中的镜头一般剪辑在一起的故事。我想，这是『故事』栏目中刊载的最像故事的“故事”。

Photographer Shen Yi Elsie graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1996, and spent one more year in Chicago Columbia College till 1997. Then she went to France for several years. She now works and lives in Beijing. Her experience outside China for so many years makes her quite different in the idea on photography. So I invited her to talk about her Honey Moon series. Recording not her own experience, as I thought before, this series is from her imagination about a beautiful time. I think this is the most fictional story since the STORY column.

Lonely Boy Mag. (No. A-1: Alec Soth’s Midwestern Exotica)

Alec Soth在做了一本《Fashion Magazine》之后好像患上了杂志瘾，在今年三月份又推出了一本新杂志《Lonely Boy Mag》，由Little Brown Mushroom Books出版，限量1000本，本期杂志标号No.A-1，预示着这本杂志还有后续期刊问世。而通过简短的杂志介绍及聊聊数张翻拍图片，我们可以发现这次Alec Soth玩了一把重口味。

『访谈』第四七期：冯立 InterView 47: Feng Li

年后一直没有继续『访谈』的单元，一来是在筹备一本『假杂志』的真杂志，二来则是被万恶的微博占去太多时间，整个人变得（更）懒散。如此这般，我想就把『访谈』做得更“高端”些，选择的摄影师要有够份量，比如本期的客人，现居成都的摄影师：冯立——如果你觉得这个名字陌生，那自由猪（free pig）这个网名肯定不会。他说，“如果需要文字来说明的照片在我看来是不纯粹甚至失败的，好的照片自己会说话”。所以，我们就让他谈了谈他作品以外的事。更多作品可以去他的fotoyard，你也可以关注他的豆瓣和微博。

It’s been a long time without interview as I was preparing for a real magazine of Jia Za Zhi and was occupied by the damned micro-blog. I become more and more lazy, but I have the chance to think differently about the column of INTERVIEW. The photographer with enough qualification will be invited, for example, this time’s guest, Feng Li, a Chengdu-based photographer. He said, “if one photo needs explanation, it’s not pure any more, even unsuccessful. Good photos can speak for themselves.” So we let him talk about something beyond his works. 艾未未作品 Works by Ai Weiwei

艾未未，出生于1957年，中国艺术家、激进主义分子，在建筑、策展、摄影、电影，社会及文化评论方面也有所涉及，曾参与瑞士建筑事务所 Herzog & de Meuron 为2008年北京奥运会主会场鸟巢设计。除了艺术之外，他一直致力于对中国当局的腐败和谎言进行调查，尤其是对在2008年四川地震中倒塌的校舍建造中存在的腐败丑闻进行曝光。2011年4月3日，他在北京首都机场被北京警方带走，同时他在草场地的工作室也被当局关闭。假杂志特此刊载部分他历来的艺术作品，以表对他的敬意和支持。

Ai Weiwei (born 1957) is a Chinese artist, activist, and philosopher, who is also active in architecture, curating, photography, film, and social and cultural criticism. Ai collaborated with Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron as the artistic consultant on the Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympics. Besides showing his art he has been investigating in the corruption and cover-ups under the power of the government. He was particularly focused at exposing an alleged corruption scandal in the construction of Sichuan schools that collapsed during the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. He intensively uses the internet to communicate with people all over China, especially the young generation. On April 3, 2011 Chinese police detained him at Beijing airport and his studio in the capital was sealed off in an apparent crackdown by the regime on activists and dissidents. Jia Za Zhi posted the selected works of him to show our respect and support to him.

『故事』第五集：李政德 STORY vol.5 by Li Zhengde

 

假杂志做到现在，我最想做下去的栏目就是『故事』。因为，我喜欢的摄影师，他们讲述故事的方式竟然可以都这样朴实无华、从容不迫。本集『故事』的讲述者是现居深圳的李政德，一位出生于湘中资水南岸的摄影师，远离故土多年的他对家乡既有主观的情绪又有旁观的理性——这就是他的《从资江到长江》系列——关于“故乡”，他说，“回得去的是家乡，回不去的是故乡”。我们不妨一起随他回到故乡去看看他记忆中的一草一木是怎样的留存，又是怎样的消逝着。本系列有将近100幅作品，为了照顾中国网络的龟速，很遗憾只能节选其中31幅，更多作品请去他的豆瓣相册看。

Starting Jia Za Zhi till now, the column “STORY” is the one I want most to continue, because I found that my favorite photographers all told their stories in a modest and slow way. That proves again that photography is not simple as taking a camera and pressing its shutter. Behind it there is always a subtle heart, whose owner can lower his/her perspective to see the life which inspires him/her to catch every touching moment at any time. Today’s story will be told by Li Zhengde, a photographer born in South Zishui River amid Hunan Province, China. Let us follow him in his memories about hometown to see how a grass or a tree remains and vanishes.
