Birgit Krause: Hawaii Backwards
Birgit Krause 生于德国的希尔德斯海姆，现居柏林。她现在就读于柏林Ostkreuzschule摄影学院。她的“夏威夷向后”系列由13幅照片组成，拍摄于2008 年，历时三个月。关于这个系列，她说，“我想拍一个不一样的夏威夷，喧闹的冲浪和度假人群之外的夏威夷。这个系列的绝大多数作品拍摄于毛伊岛，那也是个旅 游胜地，很繁忙，但是你往内陆走就会发现一大片安静、宁和的地方。”
Birgit Krause, born in Hildesheim, lives and works as a freelance photographer and picture editor in Berlin. She has a degree in Arts and Cultural Studies from the University of Bremen. Since 2005 Krause is studying at the Ostkreuzschule for Photography, Berlin. The series Hawaii Backwards consists of 13 photos and was created in 2008 over a period of three months. About this series, she said, “I wanted to photograph the ‘other’ Hawaii, beyond the bustle of the surfer- and vacation-crowd. Maui, where most of my photos were taken, is very touristy and busy but if you go inland there are many quiet, peaceful places.”
