Lydia Panas has exhibited widely throughout the United States, and is gaining attention in Europe and Asia. Lydia has taught at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, Guggenheim Museum, Lafayette, Muhlenberg, and Moravian Colleges, Kutztown University, the Maine Media Workshops, the MFA program at Vermont College, and the Baum School of Art/Lehigh Carbon Community College. She has received degrees from Boston College, School of Visual Arts and New York University/International Center of Photography. She focuses on people she knows. In the dim situation and color we feel her delicateness and objectivity. When asked in a report which photographers or artists had influenced her works, she said, photographers included Robert Frank, Diane Arbus, Cindy Sherman, Rynecke Dykstra, Katy Grannan, Richard Avedon, Sophie Calle, and Hiroshi Sugimoto; painters included Gerhard Richter and Rembrandt.
