专访摄影师杨圆圆 / Interview with Luka Young
杨圆圆，1989年11月27日生于北京，现居英国伦敦。她发给我们的作品是她最近在做的系列，与记忆和死亡有关，最后会是一个装置作品的局部。
Luka Young was born in Beijing on Nov. 27th, 1989. She now lives in London. The works she sent us are selected from her recent series, which is about memory and death. It will be part of an installation work.
1, WORDS EXPLNATION
FAKE-lies of human beings; all full-automatic appliances.
LOVE-light.
SADNESS-a poem written on a paper nearly transparent.
PHOTOGRAPHY-the art of disappearance.
SNAPSHOTS-it’s a process collecting little things in life, like collecting adventurously variety of insects in woods.
BEAUTY-kindhearted and simple persons; animals; nature; cosmos.
2, Q&A
When did you get interested in drawing? How did you start?
I like drawing when I was young, but later turned to photography after realizing that many things could not be expressed by drawing limited by techniques. Gradually captivated by the nature of photography, I think what makes this medium unique is that each photo, however it is, is related closely to death, because the moment the shutter is pressed elapses instantly. Although I love photographing very much, I don’t want to limit to this medium, which, I think, is just one of various ways of expression.
Speaking of “master”, who will you instantly think of? please give your comments on him/her in one sentence?
Andrei Tarkovsky, a sculptor of time and extreme of movie aesthetics; Hiroshi Sugimoto, teaching me a new way to see the world and think issues; Rene Magritte, a magician who creates miracles.
What’s your plan in the new year?
First, learn more knowledges and try more artistic ways of expression such as sculpting and printing; second, save enough money to travel to North Europe, like Iceland; third, become a vegetarian.

你是什么开始对摄影产生兴趣的？是如何开始的？
小时候很喜欢画画，但后来由于技术上的不足，很多东西不知如何表达，于是开始拍照，逐渐被摄影这种媒介的本质所迷住，在我看来摄影的独特之处在于，每一张照片，不管是怎样的一张照片，都与死亡紧密相连，因为在快门按下的瞬间，这一刻便死去。
虽然很热爱摄影，但我认为它只是众多的表达方式之一，我并不想只局限于这一种媒介。
